decided to make a pair of sandals

Recommended Posts

I have decided to make a pair of sandals for Christamas presents this year.

I would like to make the sole a good, thick, cusiony, non-skid, rubber material, for use by the pool.

I've done some surfing, but haven't found what I'm looking for.

Of course, I'm not 100% sure of what the technical term is that I should be using.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

Cheers

Marilyn

Marilyn,

What I've used to make the soles for moccassins is what's known as CREPE. It's a natural rubber and is very good for traction around the pool, or anywhere else for that matter. It will sew on with most any machine, or you can hand stitch it if you like.

I'm not sure if Tandy still carries it, I used to get it from a company here in Calgary Called "Halford Hides"

Hope this helps.

Ken
