Distressed Leather Conditioner

What product should I use to re-condition a brown distressed Harley D. jacket, chaps and vest? The leather is really dry. This particular set is a limited edition set (Billings) from a couple of years ago and I sure don't want to ruin it.

i beleive that i would use the Lexoil product..

try it on the back side first in a small area.... then follow the directions..

Like Luke, I would also use Lexol to soften the leather, but you may want to treat the surface of the leather after you have restored it's texture; in which case pick up a 1oz pot of Skidmores www.skidmores.com and apply it sparingly with your fingers. The heat from your hands will help it to soak in.

I also love the Dr. Jacksons Hide Rejuvinator (pure conditioner, no protection) or the Aussie Leather Conditioner (slight protection). Apply just like Ray says, then rub what's left on your hands into your hands.

I recommend either conditioner (depending on need) to everyone who comes into the shop looking for some leather TLC and have only had good results so far, but always safe to spot test when you can.

you might get alot of answers...so heres another...bick 4 is excellent product and very safe/worry free to use...won't darken the leather if thats an issue for ya...cuz some of the others will for sure...one of the few recommended for ostrich which is touchy stuff and i've tested it on it and worked perfectly...

Another option is Doc Bailey's. It has black dye in the conditioner and will restore the black color as well as condition it. It works really great on jackets and chaps that have faded. Once it's dry, you buff it lightly and the leather looks like new, almost. Here's the link

I use Apache Cream on my distressed boots. Sold where Justin boots are sold. Just put it on with your fingers and use a shoe-shine brush after.
