  1. Just saw this and wanted to say thanks for sharing. My great nephew told me the other day he wants to make a wallet. This one looks perfect.
  2. Hi, Thanks, I will look. I don't really know what style my wife is looking for, just one that catches her eye. I have seen a few of the Japanese wallets that look nice, maybe something like that. Thank you. Ed
  3. Hi all, Where is the best place to find patterns for wallets ? Specifically women's wallets, my wife has decided she wants to make a wallet. Being new to leather making, I don't know where to look. I have cruised through the posts here but didn't see any patterns, maybe I missed something. Also, what about patterns for those Japanese wallets I keep seeing ? They look like nice and may be something she and I would be interested in making. Thanks in advance. Ed
  4. May I come in ? Here's to dirty jokes.
  5. Singer 31-15 Sewing Machine. Original motor, table(?) and accessories. These machines were made in the early 1900's and were made to run forever. This machine runs great and is ideal for sewing heavy canvas or heavy materials on items such as drapes, awnings, car tops etc, etc.. I purchased this machine in hopes it would sew leather and it will sew thin leather but it was not made to punch through 1/2" leather gun holsters and such, which is what I want to do. It is located in the central Louisiana area and would have to be picked up, no way I would attempt to ship it, it is too heavy. I am asking exactly what I paid for it: $300 PM me if interested. Here is a link to the original manual for this machine: http://www.sil.si.edu/.../Sewing-Machines/pdf/sil10-202.pdf See photos.
  6. Hi, Thanks for the welcome. I do plan to go to the Tandy store, only the one in Shreveport as it is much closer. Ed
  7. Hi all, Just signed up and have been reading through some of the posts. All I can say is Wow! Lots of information contained within this site. Been involved in knife making for a couple of years now, and want to make my own sheaths as well as holsters for my guns. I am new to leather work, having made only a few sheaths and one gun holster. All of my sheaths tend to be too loose, so I have a lot to learn. I reside in the central Louisiana area and after reading here for a bit, realize there are quite a few folks here from Louisiana. Lots from the surrounding states as well, especially the great state of Texas, however I am not currently speaking to people from Mississippi after the LSU vs. Miss. St game last Saturday :-) Look forward to being here. Ed
