Check Out What I Found

Recommended Posts

While cruising the swap meet today I came upon a box of random stuff. I was looking for Wing dividers but in the bottom of the box was some stamps. 27 to be exact 24 marked Craftool usa and 2 marked RBS and 1 cant quite make out

Here is the list

I got all of them for 3 dollars. Then as I am paying the guy he says what are they for and I said leatherworking. I think I got a pretty sweat deal and being a new practicing LW its pretty cool. Some of them have a few spots of rust and the chrome is chipping off but they seem to be structurally ok.

Jeff,

The tools with chrome chipping off will cause you nothing but trouble, rusty ones are suspect but you may be able to clean them up.

Hello Jeff,

I also found a few stamps that had rust. I cleaned them with a brass wire brush and then put a light coat of "Kramers Best Restore" on them and have worked great. Small bottle a tad expensive but worth the price. I picked up this tip from an antique seller and he does wonders with the product. I purchased mine on net as not in local store in my area. Hope this helps.

God Bless.

Just knock the rest of the chrome off of the chipping ones. The chrome coming of will mess up the design.
