Money Clip Pattern

Recommended Posts

Would anyone happen to know where I can find a pattern for a credit card holding money clip? Tandy has kits, but I was hoping for a pattern only. I have the magnets, and I also have a hinge for a clip, just need a pattern. Thanks!

Why don't ya just make your own pattern. I don't think it would be any problem. Get a file folder and put the cards on the fold and mark it out the size you want cut out one side and you have a pattern for the other side.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried making my own pattern in the past and wasted a lot of leather-this is not my area of expertise-I don't have enough experience yet. I was so dissatisfied I don't want to try it again. I appreciate your input though.

Use poster board to mockup the item rather than leather. You can fold it and fit it to the clip you'll be using and make holes and whatever. Then that becomes your pattern. I'm not sure it's legal to post Tandy's stuff here anyways.

I have a money clip kit here (no pattern in it) and Iit's just a rectangle of leather. It's about 2"x6" or so with holes evenly spaced out around the edge with a thin liner to match. The clip is magnetic though. You sew the halves between the liner and outer piece.

Not sure if this is for credit cards but I just want to mention you can wipe out the magnetic strips on the back of the cards with magnets.
