    just browsing
  1. Purchased a round maul from Barry King will probably be getting a few tools from them soon. Thanks for helping.
  2. Im looking for somethinh for tooling couldnt find a web site for Robert Beard would like to see one before i order one
  3. Just found an old post talking about this subject. I think im interested in getting one. What is your opinion of round versus tspered maul?
  4. Since i started looking at the leather forums ive noticed many prefer the nylon round mallet over the more traditional hammer shape. Ive been using both the leather and nylon hammer shape. I was wondering if someone who uses both or the round barrel shape could tell me how it performs or why you prefer it over the other. Thanks John
  5. Thanks, ill do that. Needed an excuse to say hello
  6. All i ever needed were some leather shears until recently. I have used a rotary cutter. with the 8 oz leather and up i needed something a little more durable.
  7. Hello, I started tooling back in the early late 60s collecting some stamps from Tandy making a few things. When my number got called. Anyway after all was said and done i went back to making plain leather bags and cases. All in all i didnt put much effort into learning tooling until recently when I got to browsing this forum and others i was hooked. Ive tooled a few purses the Stohlman style then ran across the Sheridan tooling. it hit me like a box of bricks couldnt believe the art is so beautiful. Anyway ive collected more tools geared toward Sheridan including a head knife from Tandy. I dont know why i didnt get one sooner. I would like to make a sheath for it ive got some ideas but was hoping to introduce myself and se if you have some suggestions. Its a 4 incher. I have also purchased Bill Gardners book and Chan Geers. Happy. Fourth John
