I was looking for some oak or beech to make a clam from, then I had a brainwave ..... Oak Barrel Staves, I contacted all the people that refurbished barrels as garden ornaments and asked for a couple of staves. Two cost me £7.50 + carriage, I have not got around to cleaning them up yet as I have a lot on my plate at the moment, when I do i will post some photos. I posted this a a while back

Biting off more than I can chew, I decided to make a belt hung camera case. It is a vertical case with a "U" slot in the front, just somewhere to "put the camera down safely" it will normally be covered by a jacket so the non retracting lense can protrude through the slot. I thought it was a good original idea but they have been produced to fit the Leica camera already. First problem, I have never made anything in leather! so do not really know where to start any tips or suggestions please?
