  1. It is more a question of price than anything else , half machined pulleys are available ,but they are not cheap + sending costs + machining the hole and key + transportation costs you can easily end up with a pulley that will costs a third of the complete motor. If you can't do it yourself or know somebody who can ,it is not worth it.
  2. Thanks for the answer. The information given by college sewing is very succint and very disappointing. They don't sell any 13mm shaft pulleys and I have seen none for sewing machines so far anywhere else so I think it is not standard ? They don't tell the size of the pulley neither but from what you say it must be 75mm. I would like to have a smaller one .Does anyone know where to find one? Are you sure of the size (maybe it is not metric, it could be 1/2") ,does it have a key or a screw ?
  3. Could you tell me the size of the pulley shaft ? Is it the 15mm straight bore with key ? And did it come with a UK plug terminal? Thanks

    Pfaff 145 - 545

Hello, I have just bought a Pfaff 545 ,a model that I was looking for for some time now ,but unfortunately besides the fact that there is a part damaged,it is a special version that I wasn't aware of. It has a stitch lenght of 10mm but can only be adjusted between 5 and 10mm and there is no reverse. It seems that the 545 was offered with 6,8 and 10 mm stitch lenght option. The 6 and 8 have both reverse. The 10 mm is really odd as the action of the stitch lever work the opposite way of the others. To increase the lenght , the lever goes up ,to decrease ,goes down .When I remove the guard that block the lever I have reverse but only 5mm lenght. I really wonder wat that machine was made for. I have only tried it by hand for the moment. By carefull reading of a parts catalog found on the web, I think that I could transform it back to the 8mm lenght by changing two parts only. The good news is that these parts are standard on the 145 / 545 / 1245 with 6 or 8 mm stitch.Probably also the 2 needles variants but I don't have the parts cat to check. The bad news ist that the part that is damaged is unique for the 10 or 8mm 545, so probably much more difficult to find, I can also revert it to 6mm lenght but then have to change much more parts. So I am looking for someone who is dismantling one of those models and willing to sell parts. I will try to post some pictures if there is some interrest for this post (must find how first). Thanks.
