Taurus 1911 With Rail ~ Anyone Have One They Wanna Sell?

Recommended Posts

Duncans made these but they are out. I would like to get one so if anyone has one they don't need... let me know.

In fact, I'm always looking for more dummy guns so hit me up if you have any to sell.

Thanks!

Rings Blue Gun 1911 with Rail is the same gun pretty much.

The model, rail or no rail, hammer down or cocked and locked ar the only difference between dummy 1911's.

Unless it is something custom like an STI or some such.

The Ring's model is a Springfield. The Taurus is much different than any other railed 1911. Most rails hang below the dust cover by about 1/8".... the Taurus for some goofy reason is hanging down at least a 1/4" and maybe more!! It's a super ugly gun with such a giant rail.

So... Ring's wont work. I already have a rings 1911 rail.

Google up Law Enforcement Targets, . . . someplace in Minnesota.

Their guns generally are $36 plus shipping, . . . super people to deal with, . . . Kathy did my last order, . . . super job.

May God bless,

Dwight

Dwight thanks but the only company who I know of who has ever made the Taurus rail dummy, is Duncan's. They are out for now. So.... I was hoping to find one here.

Well that sucks about the rails, I'll have to lay Ed's next to Tommys and check it out. They look identical, actual weapons.

They are quite different. Taurus screwed the pooch on this one. See the diff below.

Springfield (and most all others) look like this:

And then Taurus came along with this ugly duckling:

See a diff?

Yeah I see how the rail is deeper on the Taurus. The relief cut in front of the strap wouldn't make a difference, but missing the depth would for sure.

Colt seems to have gone goofy with theirs also...

The Taurus almost looks like a copy with minor changes of a S&W E Model Rail Gun http://www.smith-wes...08409_01_md.jpg

Crap. I'm just about to start a holster for a Taurus 1911. I'm going to build up the bottom of the rail and extend it a bit. That should work, I hope.

Build it up BIG and FAT..... what an ugly gun! What were they thinking?

Good luck and let us know how it ends up fitting!

Thanks

Only stitch along the top of the slide and then wet mold then stitch along the bottom of the frame? I use a Dasco Pro # 431 Scratch Awl which I Diamond Ground on a belt sander for cutting holes and a stitch guide I picked up from Joans with holes set in lines at different centers along the edges and also crossing from corner to corner in an X pattern. It also is clear with graph lines on it.

It really helps with hand stitching, I also use some French curves I have from doing Mech Design years back for my curves and such.

mm, just a thought...

Oh, I trimmed it along the holes where I get 5 stitches per inch about an 1/8 inch from the edge of the holes so I can set the reveal as needs along the weapon itself.
