  1. My first real piece of work that I have done in 14 months. Had some health and vision problems, but am getting better now. The knife is a representation of an 18th c. "broken Sword" knife. The knife was made by Kyle Willyard. Old Dominion Forge. I made the sheath with a center seam up the back, hand sewn with linen thread, and with brass mounts. The leather is 6/7oz vege-tan carving leather, and stained with vinegaroon. The mounts are all hand made by me from brass sheet. The brass aging on both knife and scabbard was done with 44-40 cold blue. The knife's brass mounts came from "THE RIFLE SHOPPE", and the grip is bone. Hope you enjoy a look.

Terrypen. Another no go. Snubbyfan, that is how I do it also, on any board but this one. On here it does nothing.

Not entirely dummy proof. That is what I've done. I have windows 7, but do not know what an OS is. Also, once that img box comes up on here, if I try to cancel it, all is lost, and I am back at the topic listing. If, after clicking yes, I leave it sitting, nothing happens no matter how long I wait. It just ignores what I have done. I also get a different photo bucket window than the one shown above. I have to click on share links in the photo, then a new window comes up with the four choices, but I have to use IMG, and not DIRECT in order to get an URL. On here, I have tried all four options to no avail. Terry, please tell me what an OS is, and I'll let you try and see what you can find out..

There is no "direct" on the right side photo box. You have to click on share links, then you get a large separate box that gives you the options, including direct. With all other forums I have to click on IMG to copy URL. No matter which of the four options given by Photo bucket I have tried, when I come back to the reply box here, and click the image icon, I get a separate box with a place to copy the photo url. When I copy the photo url into its provided place and click yes, nothing happens. No matter which of the photo bucket options I use.

Nope. Does not work with any of the photo bucket links.

Tried that before, but I'll try again.

I'm an HP, PC, and that does not work.
  10. How do I post photos from Photo bucket onto a reply?
  11. Thanks James. I just recently found this site. I too was pleased to see that Chuck is here also.
  12. Finally finished it. Throat and Chape/drag are all 20ga sterling silver. Leather is 6/7oz vege tan, blacked with vinegaroon, and sewn with 6 cord linen thread. This scabbard was fitted to the sword shown and made by Kyle Willyard and Jared Secrest. The drag/chape is of two pieces joined by silver braze and glued in place. The throat has a one piece collar joined in back by a silver braze. The top cap was opened to the blade shape and joined on with a 600° cadmium solder. The locket/frog button is a five piece affair being a washer base, tube shaft, and 8ga silver button, silver brazed together and to the throat body. The thick walled tube shaft has a tight fitted brass rod inside with a 1/16" steel pin through the center and into the button and throat. Photos are not great. Too hard to balance light and shadow with the silver. Hope you enjoy a look.
  13. Thanks much Frank. That's what I needed, unless someone has a different method.
  14. How do you stitch a plug in? A separate process, or do you just continue the thread on from the holsters edge? Here is one I did a couple of years back. I just somehow made it work, but don't remember how I did it, and doubt that I did it right.
