  1. thanx billybop i just ordered it from tandy.
  2. I have a customer that wants a matching sheath for detachable blades. I cant find this exact basket weave stamp. If anyone knows what it is and where i can buy one i would greatly appreciate it.
  3. another trick i used until i got the hang of my clutch. i put some styrofoam blocks under the pedal so i couldnt press it all the way down. that at least will keep it from running away from you too much
  4. Thanx Bob I appreciate it. I've set it to look just like my 31-15 but the problem im haveing is the thread isnt making a loop. The hook passes above the eye of the needle just fine but the thread isnt looping and the hook passes by.
  5. Just picked up a singer 44-10. Its in pretty rough shape but not too terrible. I got the wheel to turn and oiled it to hell and gone. All of the mechanics seem to be turning well. Apparently the guy I got it from had been messing with the hook timing because the screws are loose. Im wondering if anyone can give me any advice on setting the timing right. I searched the forum and the only 44-10 post I found said it was basically a short arm version of a 31-15. I have a 31-15 which i absolutley love. How much in common do they actually have. Btw the 44-10 has a roller foot on it which ive never used. Thanx
  6. not sure which motor was on it before. right now im using a 1/2 hp with a clutch and a leather belt. ill be using a totally different table so ill have to mount it and all that. just wanted to make sure that motor would work for me
  7. my 201 has had the motor removed.
  8. im using a singer 201 to sew lightweight chrome tan for things like purses and guitar straps. i currently have a 1/2 hp motor with a clutch drive and im looking to change to a servo motor. the clutch likes to take off like a bat outta hell and it gets away from me pretty quick. ive been looking at the Brushless Digital D.C. Servo Motor at leather machine co. and was wondering if anyone could give me a little advice.

    Leather Art Frame

ive been getting some stuff ready for a local art show and me and a friend decided to colaborate together. i did the leather frame and he did the pinup girl.
  11. the halo your seeing is only on one side of the cut. its not because you went to deep with the swivel knife its from cutting with an angle. the knife just under cut the leather. try to keep it straight up instead of tilting the swivel knife. its a problem i still have so im pretty familiar with it lol. i agree with sinpac make your cuts deeper to add depth. another thing is make sure your leather is cased really well (wet) and keep your swivel knife really sharp. love to see some pics of the long bow your dad made. ive always wanted to try making one myself
  12. heres a new handbag i made for my wife. i got the idea from a motorcycle tool bag and dyed it similar to my own motorcycle gas tank.
  13. LOL not quite a "shotgun" wedding but it was what they called a "redneck" wedding. the bride, groom, the rest of the wedding party and the minister (myself btw. im an ordained minister) was decked out in full hunting camo. and the ceremony was held at a state park on the lake. i know it sounds pretty bad but it was actually a really good time.
