  1. Here's a book that might help. I got it a couple years ago and it looks like something from the '50s or '60. I have ordered from SteckStore through Amazon and have had good experiences several times. You might can adjust the dimensions on the .45 Colt Auto, which is really the Colt 1911 by another name. Or, you can take the pattern for the .22 H&R with 6-inch barrel and modify that. I think it is more of a cylindrical shaped pistol than the 1911, but you can take a look and see for yourself. Even if it doesn't work for that project, there are about a dozen patterns and some good tips and photo-carve ilustrations, that are worth the price of the book (about $9 on Steck Store). It has 32 pages and it will lay flat with a paperweight or clamp or two. Book includes general info on making holsters as well as advice on stitching and tools and tracing patterns are included for these handguns: .38 Colt 4", 5" and 6" barrels .22 Hi-Standard Automatic 4-1/4' and 6-3/4" .22 H & R Sportsman 6" barrel .357 Magnum-S&W 3-1/2" and 6" barrels .38 S&W Military and Police 2" barrels .45 Colt Frontier 7-1/2" barrel .38 Colt Official Police 4" & 6" barrels 9 mm German Luger Automatic 4" & 6" barrels .44 Colt Frontier 6" barrel .45 Colt Automatic 5" barrel Shoulder Holster Harness .22 Ruger Single Six 5" & 5-1/2" barrels Cap Pistol Texan Jr. Good Luck! http://www.stecksstore.com/servlet/the-2083/Holsters,-Leathercraft,-6055-dsh-00-Stohlman/Detail
