Bicycle Seat, Phone Wallet Case, Leather Bicycle Grips And Indian Head Penny Bolts

Recommended Posts

For my first post, I would like to show off some of the stuff I've made recently. I started working with leather not too long ago...don't really have a proper tool set up, but I try.

I work with composites and thermoforming so I had a vac set up on hand.

Wet vac formed to fit my iphone 5...first time owning a smart phone, i think i was more excited to make this wallet than to use the phone.

Made some leather grips for me and my roommates bikes. Bar end brake, and shifter with cable routed under the grips. I used 8oz cowhide, the final product fits the grip of a hand perfectly.

I was able to get a few old brooks seats for pretty cheap, so i made a cavity mold of my roommates B17, then did a fiberglass layup in that for a plug.

The frame was a bit too wide, but i was able to reform the ends and reduced it's width by an inch.

I domed some indian head pennies, and brazed them onto carriage bolts so it they retain it's detail when they are installed.

Finished! Hope you enjoy.
