What 's Needed For Idle Hands,,,,,

Recommended Posts

Looks like I'll be on my butt, foot up for the next couple months or more,,, ankle surgery,, old issue,, as well as getting old issue

SO basic Q's for braiding needed,, want to get set up before I'm grounded,,,,will be limited for at least a month just getting around to gather tools,

so looking to put a box of gear, ready and at hand or hooks length away...

1 or 2 good books reference's,, that cover ,trimming and covering items, and or whips, all the pinned post here, will be repeatedly viewed,

any thought as to supplies,, for starters, size ,lengths, basic tools

lacing, para cord, a couple of pieces of leather with holes for connecting two as in cases or seats, sides or panels

something I can practice on and take apart many times to re braid and learn,,, only have a short window to gather the items and or order

as in a week or so,,,,,if all the moons and star align,, insurance and doctors agree,,,,

Thanks, and help me keep some sanity,,,,,really David

Wow. My first instinct is to say get or borrow a guitar if you don't have one already.

I'm not much into braiding or plaiting but I'll look through google books and see if I can find an old out of copyright book that might be helpful... something you can read online or print out I mean.

Ok. Here's a free book on knots and splices. It's mostly for rope but from what I see there is some good info on some rather fancy knots like the monkey fist or crown knots. To download this, click the gear and click "Download PDF." Than save.
