First Attempt At A Leather Jacket

Recommended Posts

This is my first attempt at a leather jacket. I used left over 3oz leather to construct this, trimmed it with 5oz veg-tanned, 100% wool lining and deer antler toggles. This all hand punched and stitched. Any feed back would be appreciated. This is also my first post and I haven't figured the best way of adding photos.

Nice jacket well done, I always tend to make clothing too small either that or I am just getting fatter a lot quicker than I can make things!

Seriously Impressive ! I like your jacket alot !

all nicely appointed too ! and I can see the reason for your wife's excitement.

I will attempt a vest soon myself.

Not intended as an invasion of your privacy But,

Could I ask, where in NW Ga. are you ? Reason for asking is

I'm in Summerville with more leather enthusiasts scattered around us.

Very nice, I never tried to "hand stitch" an entire jacket --- I'm afraid my hands and patience would not survive!

You have a treasure for life that someday your kids will hold onto with great pride when it is your time to pass to the other side. Just lost my mother and little things of hers take on a whole new meaning. But this will be a treasure all your days and beyond. Well done!

Sorry to here about your loss.

My wife helped out so that relieved some of the stress.

If I may make a suggestion. Find a article of clothing that fits you well and just break it down and use that as a jumping off point for whatever you decide to make.
