Freehand Practice Carving, Dragon And Scales

Recommended Posts

Just a little freehand carving practice, and a sample of dragon scales for a strap that never came through... good practice though.

Very cool. Keep up the good work. Sadly carving is something I've never spent much time doing. I like it, but for some reason I just never seemed to do much of it.

Thanks builderofstuff, I appreciate the kind words! Carving is awesome to me, because it's almost like drawing, you are free to put whatever you can think of onto leather. It's what I started out doing, because I don't have hundreds or thousands to spend on a massive arsenal of stamps and other tools. How do I take a look at some of your work, I wanna return the love! :)

Cool! I really love dragon scale stuff. Like this mandolin: http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?110227-Dragon-Yin-Yang-Mandola&highlight=dragon

Anyway, I haven't really put in the work to do it well, but it's on my to-do list, some time. Looks like you are well on your way!
