Question For Jim Simmons

Recommended Posts

The book you refered to for designing patterns wouldn't be the one you put out some time back on making CAS gear would it or is it a different book. I have the CAS book but if there is a newer book out I would like to find it.

The CAS book is the newer one. If you have it then you would not need the older one. Yee Haa covers everything that is in the Book of Leatherwork except that it includes bullet and shell slides.

Thanks,

Jim

Jim what's the odds of getting an ebook or pdf copy ogf the yee haa book? You know me I want everything digitally as space in the rv is tight.

I can relate to that Blackey. I was living in an rv by the Etowah River in Georgia when I started my holster business. Now y'all know why it's called Etowah River Productions.

I'll have to do some research to see how to get into e books. I'm kind of a dinosaur when it comes to this electric digital e stuff.

Later on I intend to hold a discussion about the advantages of patterns on disc and owning printers that will print the larger sheets.

Well, lets take a look at the idea. Eleven years ago I bought an HP 9800 seies printer do I could check pattern as they were drawn to check for errors. One day I cut dome poster board to 11 x 17, set the printer for the heavier paper, and bingo! Instant template right of the computer.

Now, anyone who has any of my patterns in print see that the instruction show how to trace the templates on to the poster board with carbon paper. Huff! What a drag! Wouldn't it be so much easier to print them? What a time saver! And in this business; time are money.

Who knows, this concept just might render pattern on paper obsolete.

Think about it.

Jim

Sorry for the misspelling. It's hard to type on this I phone.
