  1. Howdy Ya'll... First of all, I have to say this has gotta be the best leather crafters site out there. Now to my problem... I'm looking for a set of Strap end patterns. There are so many ways to end straps. I don't have any problems with geometrical shapes; but, curved ends are a pain in the ***. So does any one have some patern that I can lay on the straps and trace it for a smooth and cimetrical end?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bryan
  2. Hi equiss, I found this on youtube: . This guy makes all sorts of hand bags and he shows you how to make the patterns. In one of his videos he also shows you how to set the gusset. You can change the design of the bags he makes ( they are classics) to make them how ever you would like. Good luck with your booth.Bryan
  3. That is some really nice work!! I love those knots.
  4. Thank you for the help. I'll give your method a shot and post back after I have finished the bracelet. thanks Bryan
  5. I'm in the shoe bussiness and when I have to change a last I glue leather to it, using a contact glue. In order to get a good bond, you have to rough up the back side of the leather and then apply two coats of glueto the leather (let the first coat dry and then add the second coat) and one coat to the wood. After that you put the leather on your wood and apply good presure. I use a shoemakers hammer. It has a smooth face so it wont scrape up the leather. I have a last from 1923 that was built up like this and the leather is still holding.
  6. First things first...I'm new here and would like to say hi to all. I've been reading the forums and can only say: "WOW". I don't think ther is a limit to what I can learn from the professionals on this site. THANK YOU for all the information. Now to my problem: I have been braiding a few braclets with the four part round braid and a core out of copper wire. I usually end them with a foot rope knot and a turks head knot bellow that. I would like to know if anyone can tell me how to finish the braid by weaving the ends back covering the wire core and making a nice roud end with out a knot. I have seen a picture of a lasso that was ended like this. I would greatly appriecent a Tutorial on how to do it. Thanks
