Some Of My Latest Work

Recommended Posts

Here are a few examples of my latest holsters. Nothing fancy, but they are sturdy and serviceable. Thanks for looking.

Yes, sorry that I didn't make that clear. I made them.

I figured you made them. Are they all for you, or for others?

Sorry, not firing on all cylinders today I guess. These are for sale or have already been sold.

Nice work! I'm also of the plain and simple...as long as they work and last a long time! Good job.

Very nice ,well done . I have one question : When one achives a master level of craftsmanship does life get any easier in this trade . This is as good as any factory stuff I mean that as a compliment its just plain good . My question is does it put enough money in the wallet to live like a master of your craft ? My compliments on some very fine projects . Bill

Well, let me start by saying that I am nowhere near master level, but unfortunantely, leatherworking is a trade...and tradesmen, will never get paid a wall street salary...some here, like Lobo, is incredibly successful, but like any successfull person, he works his tail off and is always looking for ways to make something better, like his welted pancakes and avengers......others, like me, do this because we enjoy it and it usually pays enough to send off to Kevin at Springfield for more tools and leather...lol...So, i dont think it gets any easier, but doing a job you enjoying doing is worth quite a bit...

Thats sad very sad indeed .I am sitting here waiting on call to make a delivery . Work has been done for a week and the buyer is a putz so I am waiting to be payed . If that fool dont get his act together Ill sell it to some one else and he can wait a month or so till I feel like making it again . I am getting real sick of the song and dance . I used to like this now its a business and I want the money so I have to perform . Tired of being the dancing monkey doing a jig for pennies . I have maybe 5 years left before I cant do this any more . I have threatened to walk away many times and I must say I am looking forward to my last day at the bench . I was under the delusion that if you got really good things got a lot better . You just gave me a big reality check with your words . Thank You ! If its still tuff when doing your quality of work perhaps I should see about food stamps as it appears my future is a bit dark . My work is a long way from yours . I am grateful for your response and your honesty it will change my direction for sure . Bill

Dont change your direction..change your policies...anyone but my closest friends and co workers pays before i even cut the leather...this simple step will make you feel a ton better and get you to your bench with pep in your step instead of that feeling of "got to"...give it a shot and see..

I cant stand being obligated by having money up front . Most of the time I make what I please and then go sell it ,there is always a fall back position so what ever I made sells . This is not one of my regular customers so some rough spots are expected . Here being nice is a sign of weakness. You either keep your word or the deal is off and any money payed in advance is forfit . No exceptions . Its one of those days when the shop is in way too big of a mess things arent working and if there was money and a place to go I would run away from home . Way to much of everything today . Thanks for the advise ! I am at the bench 15 hrs a day most days time for time away from that . Bill

I like the designs and their simplicity and i can image that they function as well as they look. I have allways believed in form should follow function. I have made a few holsters and have attempted to dress them up with carving and conchos, but I am allways drawn back to the individual design aspect. I think that is what keeps me going in this buisness. (not getting rich) I guess all any of us can do is to continue to inprove on our products in hopes that we will hit on a signature look that others will like. Keep up the good work and I look foreward to seeing more of Your Work.
