I am not too sure how to answer this but I can say that I am interested in many things. I especially like doing things for myself. My companion is my faithful hunting dog and my Berretta Silver Pigeon, my boys and wood working. I am not married and I am at the age where I doubt the point or its purpose. I love my music for it is about the only thing that still impresses me these days.

  1. Yes, the ends overlap. I have worn one for years. Very nice and secure belt. Good luck with it. Yes, the ends overlap. I have worn one for years. A very comfortable and secure belt. Good luck.
  2. Dave: The best book for that is Bruce Grant's "Leather Braiding" It has tons of tutorials and other help. I have done up to 8 strand braiding with the book and it worked well for me. I am doing the same kind of thing and need to learn to do a sliding knot for the landyard. Once I have that figured out to where I want it. I'll be done. I look forward to your progress. Maybe We can work in colaboration. Good luck. CJSWIM

    Pineapple knots

Reprimand taken in good stride and appreciated. I will take all the advice with gratitude and share when I can. Everyone on the cite has been great. Thanks again.
  4. Thanks friend. I also saw a pineapple knot I really liked. Now I just need to find out what that means. Thanks, I will check it out. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to us newbies.

    Pineapple knots

Yes, probably beating a dead horse, but I was hoping someone could give me a good tutorial for pineapple knots. Yep! I am a newbie and to make matters worse, I am not great on the computer but I am learning. I have seen much of the great work on this site and all the experienced braiders and knot tyers kind of gloss over this as if to say "of course". Please don't thin the heard yet. I am trying to catch up, really.
  6. Who knows how to braid a sliding knot for a braided lanyard? I am new to this and was hoping someone could direct me.
  7. I am a novice and was attracted to the idea of braiding my own lanyard for my dog wistle. That being said, I am trying my hand at a herring bone braid that seems to be working out okay. I am hung up on doing the slide knot for the lanyard, however. Can anyone direct me to a good source for instruction on how to accomplish this?
