  1. I use coffee or black tea for my brown shades. Not only is it Eco friendly, it makes the leather smell great!
  2. So far it has been fine. After assembly I oil with Virgin Olive Oil, and let sit, then I applied the Leather Sheen. After this I polished with a mixture of Beeswax and olive oil, this is a mixture I made that is somewhat like shoe polish, works great. Scott Forgot to mention, I clean between each step with a wipe down of Acetone.
  3. Just two layers of leather. It is plenty stiff. Scott
  4. Dwight, Under the cover of darkness, and while my wife was out, I rummaged thru her sewing stuff and low and behold.....snap set plyers! Now if she doesn't miss them I'll be in fat city. Scott
  5. Dan, Good point. I edited the photos so they should be a little easier to see.
  6. Here are my latest attempts. Thanks to everyone for the ideas, some of which I have blatantly stolen! FNP 40/9 6/7oz USMC Black Virgin Olive Oil/Beeswax mix leather Sheen This is now my primary carry rig. [att achment=22242:new_014_600x450.jpg] FNP 40/9 6/Oz Coffee 8hr soak Virgin Olive Oil/Beeswax mix Leather Sheen Glock 17 6/7oz Coffee 12hr soak Virgin Olive Oil/Beeswax mix Leather Sheen First IWB attempt FNP 40/9 6/7oz Unfinished. As you can see, I have plenty of holsters for my FNP lol. Fire away, I look fwd to the critiques. Scott
  7. Kate, Thanks for the great tutorial. This need to be posted for all to use. Scott
  8. Bending is the biggest problem. The shank of the female tends to bend over prior to swelling. Scott Wild Rose, Thanks for the idea, I used a tapered center punch, and it helped some. There has to be a better way....I think I will go play around in the machine shop tomorrow and see what I can come up with. Scott
  9. There are various schools of thought on what weight leather to use in the fabrication of holsters. My question to those of you inclined to answer, is what weight do you utilize for your different styles? IWB weight/OWB weight. I use 6/7oz for my OWB. I have yet to attrempt an IWB holster. Thanks Scott
  10. Does anyone have a good trick to setting these miserable line 20/24 snaps? Now I know why people but them in bulk. Thanks Scott
  11. That is only good customer service. I myself would do no less.
