  1. Could use some help in the "tension setting" department please.  I am a little scared to turn dials but know I need to adjust the tension as my bottom stitches are coming up to the top.  Thanks for any advice you can give.

Hello debinarizona, If this question relates to the Cowboy Model 227R this link should help to look at first. So long as every thing is threaded properly and there is nothing snagging or holding up the thread path then turn your top tension knob anticlockwise 1/2 turn back and test stitch. If still to the top, do again. Clockwise is tighter and anti clockwise is looser. This is so with every sewing machine that I have that I can think if at least. If after doing this a few times and it does not work then most likely your bobbin thread is not under it's spring correctly. BTW -how did you get by for 3 years without touching the tensions? Regards Brian:huh:

  2. I have oiled everything that moves - that I can see - plus the "red dot" places. Do I need to unscrew anything to get to the "hook system" etc. I'm thinking that needs to be oiled somehow - (just put a little where it moves?). Is there a video available somewhere to help novices like me? Thanks for your help - you guys are all awesome!!!!! I use the long tube when I do the "red dot" oiling. Don't know anything about the "full oil"..............any info would be welcome!
  3. I have only been doing the "red dot oil". What does the "full oil" entail? Thanks for your help - you are awesome!
  4. I have a Cowboy Model 227R machine and have been oiling it where I think it needs it. However, I don't feel comfortable that I'm getting it oiled properly. The paperwork I have is a copy of a copy, etc. so can not really tell exactly where it needs to be oiled. Is there someone out that that could help me with this? Deb in Arizona
