  1. Hi! Thank you so much! Unfortunately i have those heads (i ceramic instead of glass) and they are very small, i guess they would be about the size of a young girl. You can see the measurements here: Height: 290mm Head: 550mm Neck: 300mm Base: 110mm but thank you so much for the trouble! I have condisered make one myself, but never tried molding. so i have no idea where to start. Do you no a place where i can find a guide to what i need and how to proceed? - Jack
  2. Grrr - So far no luck! - all manniquin heads i've found are too small! Tried mailing Pivot Point (they only ship to Australia) but they just referred me to a danish company, where the cheapest head costed 80pounds (thats a little over the top for my budget) Please any links og recommendations would be very much apriciated! - Jack
  3. But it needs to be life size. Isnt a mannequin head smaller than a Real head?
  4. Hi! I've been making masks for some time now, and ive done it with the approach described on my blogspot Blogspot Ive used a home made face dummy, which has been working okay, but i would like a head, a full life size dummy head. to map out my masks. Any one have any idea where to get one? Tom Banwell uses this Banwells dummy Which is great! - something like that, or preferably, something with the back of the head as well. Best Regards. - Jack
  5. So many advices all at once! So i should use sand paper to sand down the edges? - how so, just run it across ones or what? Saddle soap instead of the wax? is that what you mean? - and where do i get this? - from my Leather dealer? Ive used a little more elbow grease now, and it looks a lot better, the line between the two pieces are still very visible though. :/ Thank you very much for the reply!
  6. Ive really realle tried, but i just cant get the hang of it .___. i own this kind of Wax: Link to My edge Wax and for some reason, i just cant get the hang of applying it to the the edges .__. What i do is, i take a moist cloth, and damp it on the edge. then i apply the wax, and then smooth the edge with a piece of bone. The best result I've gotten so far is this: Link to my pathetic Edge work and it is not really the result seen beneath .__. It is as if the wax is much thicker on this pretty piece of work. and my work is just sad .__. - my biggest disapointment, is not to be able to "connect" the two pieces of leather. (so it looks like one smooth piece of leather) Ive looked a lot on the Internet, and found that people use machines, which i don't have. anyone have a good guide to finishing edges, preffereble a video?. or maybe just some good tips! and is this, the thing I'm trying to do, the same as burnishing? (I've seen this word a lot, but I'm not sure if this is it) the best I've found is Bob Parks guide, unfortunately, I'm too stupid to understand it ._. Thank you in advance! - Jack
  7. Yeah the Rust part i learned the hard way, my god my heart started pounding when i saw, that the handmade, hand cut hand everything knife i had borrowed to make the sheath, was completely covered in rust!. Luckily, it came right off! :D But thank you so much for the tip
  8. Thank you so much! - that means alot coming from you Mr. Banwell! Im a little star struck right now :D
  9. Holy Frick on a stick! Jaw-dropping! Gooood Job man!
  10. Hahaha :D Great rant! Thank you very much!
  11. Oh! I misunderstood The pest dr. Is from a gasmask. And The experiment is a lens from an old camera :D
  12. A friend of mine wanted me to make him a Sheath for his very cool handmade knife. This was a challenge, because i have never made a Sheath before. I started out by taking my leather, and soaking it in water for 15 minutes. This makes the leather very shapeble. I then cut a big piece of leather, and start shaping it over the knife. This made a rough mold for the front part of my sheath. and as seen on the next to pictures, the mold is actually quite great: Then i cutted the leather with a 1cm space along the edge, to make room for the seem for later: I then took my blunt swivel knife, to really get the mold sharp and crisp. Then i cutted the backpiece, colored both pieces and sew them together. I made a Cross using a leather stamp. I also tried to make edge patterns, these didnt turn out so great, it is very hard aligning them with each other. Would like some tips on edge finishing. right now i use edge wax (like this) put i dont think it works very well. Any tips? - Jack
  13. Great work on both! - love the black one! - looks very clean in its simplicity two questions: 1; What have you used for the edges? looks really nice. 2; what color have you used for the second sheath? great job man
  14. Thank you a lot Actually nothing. seeing as i am still very novice, i have not yet perfected the eye part of my masks. All my mask eyes can be screwn apart (not sure if thats the correct term) and so i just make the hole very tight, and screw the eyes on from opposite sides of the mask. This works, however you can kinda see the eye hole gaping just a tit on the pest mask, not ideal .__. This is not the solution i want, but im afraid i have not yet developed a teqnique that is better .__.
