Service Rifle Sling

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I am looking for a pattern for a service rifle sling. I know where to get the hardware thanks to the search bar, but a pattern not so much.

I have a wounded veteran friend who wants one for his newly acquired M1 and he has asked me to make one. If anyone could help, that would be absolutely amazing.

Thanks,

I just did a "google" and the m1 sling is is 1 1/4 wide which fits 1 1/4 swivals and is ~ 40 inches long at its total length. Good luck

Where did the reply with dimentions of the sling get to I posted 3 hours ago????????? Service rifle slings are two parts. The forward piece is 48 inches long. The part attached to the back of the stock is 17 inches long with 1 1/2 inch sewn to the hardware loop in between both pieces.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know a reasonable source for the hardware needed. The only place I've found the double prong hook wanted almost $20 for the pair.

I probably should of specified. The one im looking for has the two prong hooks and has a figure eight mid way through for stability.

But thanks for your help so far everyone.
