Bruce Cheney Breast Collar Dvd Audio

Recommended Posts

Hi

Does anyone else have Bruce Cheney's DVD, How to Make Roping and Cutting Breast Collars? I was just given it as a gift. However, the audio is pretty bad, with lots of hiss and low voice levels. I'm just wondering if mine's from a bad batch or that's just how they all sound?

Thanks...

Firstly, I have to apologise for my inaugural post being such a vacuous question. I regretted posting it immediately...but, couldn't figure out how to delete it. :cowboy: So, in an attempt to redeem myself, I'll tell you what I did to fix this issue (bad audio drives me crazy).

Since one audio channel to the stereo pair is blank, you can probably just tell your DVD player or TV audio input to pickup just the channel with content. I've found a lot of horse instructional DVDs also make this mistake of not having the audio on both channels. Anyway, I ripped the DVD and converted the file to MP4, using Handbrake. I was then able to delete the empty track (so the left channel - with audio - will now play left and right in the stereo pair). I then removed most of the background noise and the clicking that was throughout the DVD. I used Soundsoap for this. I then applied RMS normalization to lift the voice levels...and then 'stitched' the audio back to the video file. It now sounds fantastic...except for the radio Bruce has running in the background.

BTW, the video is great. Bruce Cheaney has a really relaxed style. He cuts nearly everything with a pocket knife, which is cool to see. Of course, Bruce is a Texan...which means you can run the DVD at twice normal speed and still not miss a beat. ;-)

I like Mr. Cheaney a lot myself. It's almost like listening to an older cowpoke version of Bob Ross (That PBS painting guy).
