Solid Brass Locks

Hi all,

I hope that someone out there can point me to a place where I can buy quality solid brass satchel and bag locks, handle fittings and corners.

I have been asked to produce the classical lawyer satchels and document pouches of yesteryear. I can get plenty of nice pressed metal fittings, but the guys that want these bags won't accept pressed metal, no matter how nice it is.

I used to buy the British made Liston fittings, but that company has become defunct (like every other brass works in the UK). The Company has been sold a couple of times over the past 10 years and has recently been acquired by another supplier in the UK. Unfortunately they only have a tiny little fraction of the original range of locks and not the type I am looking for. So I am hoping that there is some manufacturer/wholesaler out there who has these locks.

I see bags on the Internet with the fittings I want, but cannot find who supplies them

Any help would be most welcome.

Ohio Travel Bag http://www.ohiotravelbag.com/ has some locks and corners but the corners are brass plated and the locks don't look old like the ones at Abbey, which is who you were referring to I think.

I guess your talking about www. abbeysaddlery.uk ? Don't they still have those brass corners ? Try www.mmcolombo.it they have a lot of brass locks .

Liston Locks were taken over by Abbey Saddlery, and are now known as Abbey Liston. As far as I know, they still produce the full range of locks and fittings.
