Watson Hill Leather Report post Posted October 10, 2011 I am making a tooled cribbage board out of 16 oz veg-tanned leather. It's 9"X18," and was cut from a flat hide. However, as I've worked on it (swivel knife cuts and background tooling only at this point), it's developed a slow warp. I don't have much experience with leather this heavy, and don't know how I would go about flattening it back out. With thinner leather, I've always cased it down and thrown The Ashley Book of Knots on it until it dried, but I'm worried that this leather is so thick that if I tried to wet it down enough to flatten it, moisture would be trapped in the middle and possibly lead to rot. Any thoughts?
