My Figure Carving Book Has Seen Better Days

Recommended Posts

I managed to get the pages unstuck from my dads old figure carving book, that was on the back patio work shop when it was damaged in a hurricane and the box stayed back there for a very long time until one day on a trip home I found the box and all it's golden treasure...this book though has seen much better days...I think I may need a new one...what do ya think! hahahaha

On the 52 tele project i am about to do I for sure need this book as a reference since I haven't done any figure carvings like this delicate with precision in so long....

I thought you might enjoy this! (it's not my fault I didn't do it)! A storm did!

I really hope I can get some help from the folks that do Figure carving a lot to help with this 1952 Tele reissue project!!!

I am all for learning some old tricks! I am all ears and thumbs:)thumbsup.gif

I have an issue of that book that is probably just about as old. I would have bought about 1956 or so. Mine is in better shape than yours. LOL

Ya I can get just enough info out of it to get myself into trouble! hahahaha

This book was printed in 65 which is when my dad bought it. He quit doing leather work after about 1985-87??? Hard to say, but Hurricane Eliana took the roof off the porch...a wet book was the least of our problems.

I re-wet the pages and managed to get the pages separated but the top is well....destroyed:)

I have rarely even attempted this kind of style on leather, so until now I have not really needed it:)

I think it's available as an e-book on Tandy's digital library.
