Good day guys..

New guy here.. but after reading & searching this section I can't find any answer to this...

I got this cheap belt from China..

but I was wondering how you get that side finish that looks like rubber..

I can't find any product or machine that can make that finish..

Thanks in advance..

Check into Dura-edge.

You could use Edge Kote, but yea. These techniques aren't generally reccomanded cause they may be easy and quick, but lack durabilty. So more often than not, burnishing is a way better solution. If done right, you could get a glassy edge that is way more durable.

Thanks ItsJustNC

I used Edge kote in the past

Actually I have a much better local product than Edge Kote.. way better

But this is like a melted rubber.. something really different

It may look odd in a purse or wallet, but it looks great for watch straps.

Start with a rubber belt????

Most are not leather, but have ground leather as a filler.

Those edges are rubber. I've repair lady's handbag straps that came apart. That edge peels away like cured rubber cement. Sometimes that edge is the only thing that holds the two layers together. Case in point, I sewed together about twenty brand new belts for the local western store that came apart before they could be sold. Looked on the back it said "designed in the U.S ,,,made in China.

Have a good one,

Terry
