  1. Not sure if you need to know still. We purchased the saddle hardware from Twain last year. www.cheneycustom.com there is a link to the hardware and our info. Chris Cheney - Cheney Custom Saddles & Silver
  2. Thanks Andy, we're close to having our price list finished and ready to take orders. Take care- Chris ps. Thanks Denise for the modification.
  3. Finally Pictures of the Blackfoot Ranch Rodeo Saddle Makers Contest (Last weekend in June)
  4. We just purchased Harwood Hardware from Twain. There is some inventory available now. You can contact us for availability. We will have a small startup time waiting on the foundry (USA) order. Should be done about the 2-3 week in Feb. My wife (Shaney) will be handling all of the ordering and shipping. We will be getting out pricing and new information as soon as possible. If you want information please let us know. Email saddlehardware (at) gmail (dot) com or you can check on our website www.cheneycustom.com
  5. Still available, I'm lowering the price to $1800+ shipping-- I'll crate it all up for no cost to you. A great machine that just sits around the shop!
  6. Where are you located? Interested in an aerostitch in very good condition?
  7. You can take the side cover off to clean and lube things, the needle bar will want to fall off, and theres a couple parts in there, but not bad. Clean it all up with some carb cleaner or something, and just a thin cote of the white lithium wherever anything moves. Also clean the shuttle good and put just a little grease where it runs. Also I put a little of the air tool oil in the top plug on the pedal, and a little on the gear and bushings in the back side of the machine. The only other thing I can think of, on the big drive bar on the back of the machine theres 2 springs that keep the presser foot cam centered that occasionally give out. Not bad to have a couple of these on hand. Numbers 32-1 and 32-2 in the pic. It will make the presser foot raise sporatically. Good luck
  8. We sure will post pictures when its done. As an update, Trina Weber has said she'd donate, Jeremiah is sending a bit and a pair of spurs, Harper tool (steel stamp co.) has a $20 gift certificate, and still some more in the works.
  9. sorry the entry only had 2 pages, here is the full thing... entry.pdf entry.pdf entry.pdf
  10. Folks, I should have brought this up sooner, We have a ranch rodeo in Blackfoot, Idaho June 26-27; and this is our fifth year we are having a saddle makers contest. Here is a pdf of the entry information, if you have any questions, ask away or give my wife a call. In the past, we have just kept it fairly local, but it sure would be good if anyone else would like to bring a saddle over. Last year we had 10 saddles entered. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks- Chris entry.pdf entry.pdf
  11. Glad it helped. No, theres sure not much you can do besides adjusting tension on things. Have fun. Chris
  12. Does your machine have the needle up button? and the hand positioning lever on the front? Just play around with it, scribe some different shapes so you can follow a line. About the only maintenance is to keep the shuttle race real clean, I usually pull the cover of the needle bar off to clean and wipe it and the shuttle down with white lithium grease every week, a little more often on the shuttle. Oil the rest of the moving parts, and put a little air tool oil in the plug on top of the pedal base each day.
  13. John, I can't tell you what machine you need, but I bought my aerostitch about 10 years ago when I started building saddles. It was great to learn on and it still runs great. Its simple to operate and if it does get acting up its usually just a little dirty. Theres not much for adjustments and no timing to worry about, Tippmann has all the parts and they're real good to ship things fast. I run 346 or 277 on saddles, and 138 on chaps and headstalls with a half turn on the tension and a smaller needle. Plus I'm pretty sure it was made right here in the USA. Heres my shameless plug I've put mine up for sale after getting an old needle and awl machine http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=14218 I'm open to offers. Let me know if you need anything. Chris
