How much lace is needed to do a double loop around a small solo Bobber motorcycle seat?

Since i don't do a whole lot of lacing anymore, the number might be off.....but you can get pretty close to the length by measuring the total linear distance and multiplying by 7.

a good rule of thumb.....7 times the distance around....

I agree with the method of finding the required length, but if I were doing it I'd use lengths of lace no more then 11/2 yards to save the lace from getting raggy & worn, then dry splice as needed. Good luck with your project.

you bury the end between the pieces you're lacing and overlap the start/stop of the two.

Steps 6 - 8. It's pretty much the same for any lacing technique. If you're only going through one piece of leather, then you can cut a slit in the edge to make a pocket for the lace to sit it, but make sure your leather is thick enough to do that first.

If small (8-13 inches) one full roll should be sufficient for a medium-large lace. Smaller lace and shorter hole pattern may take more. I would get two rolls just in case, especially if you want to re-lace, or begin a new seat, or project, later on.

thanks, 9 x the laced length worked for the mexican round braid.

I used 1/4" Roo 3/8" hole spacing on my seat

I cut lace lengths at my arms span about 1.5 yds
