Second belt

Recommended Posts

I tried to make a couple of belts this week. I've that a heavier belt is better for concealed carry so I thought I'd try my hand at one. I think it came out fairly decent. This is actually the second one that I made. The first is just like this but without any stamping and just oiled. After using one of these types of belts I'd don't think I'll go back to a "normal" belt. If you guys see any changes that I should make I'd like to hear them. Thanks!

over all it looks good...cut the border then bevel, then stamp it...how do you have the keeper attached??...if you don't have them...gets whats called "loop staples" for the keepers...springfield leather has them in 100 counts...place the keeper inbetween two rivets or chicago screws whichever on the buckle end...sandwiched between the 2.5" or so section that bends around to the underside of the buckle/strap...

also imo it looks better if ya make a border on the keeper using a creaser or run some stitching along each side...

Thanks for the tips Darryl. I don't have the keep attached. I know that I should but I didn't leave enough room between the snaps. It keeps unsnapping itself when I put it between the two. I'll leave a little more room next time. I don't I didn't think to bevel the stamping. Do you suggest running a border and then stamping right on the edge of that? You say I should then bevel the border before stamping? Thanks again for the tips!

cut your border for the belt, then bevel that border with a smooth beveler, then lay your borderstamp down along the inside edge of it...
