Recommended Posts

Bought this at a garage sale for $10. Has anyone ever used one of these?

Ya' know it is against the law to seal. You made a very good find. This is a lap skiver.

Hey Mark I have one very similar...I'd be more than willing to help you get it in tip top shape the next time you come visit!

That sounds good to me thanks. What was it originally used for? I have never seen one before.

I have a newer Landis. I use it for skiving ends of belts and straps.

I've got one like that, got to get the blade seriously sharp, and keep it sharp, mine has a tendency to wander a bit and mark the leather, that could be down to my inept setting up, good solid machine should last for ever

I've got four. Got them on Ebay and refurbished them for use on thinner leathers.

I got one of these off ebay, and not done much with it. How have you set it up for thinner leathers?

I got mine working after a fashion, but would love to get more use out of it.
