Tandy Leather's Bullseye Shoulder Holster Attachment Kit

Recommended Posts

Hello all.

This is my first post. I don't do too much with leather but have thought about starting to use it more and do have some small projects I would like to try out. I currently use a piece of leather as a backing for my Kydex IWB holsters.

I realize this might be a bit sacrilegious using plastic to make holster instead of all leather on this board but hey, it's what I know better, please forgive me. One day I might tackle an all leather holster but for now I'm comfortable with providing my customers with what I do. I will also eventually be getting or building an electrical burnisher. I've been doing it by hand which as I'm sure you know takes forever; I haven't had extremely good results with it either.

Now that my introductions are out of the way, my current question is if anyone has any experience with or heard any reviews of Tandy Leather's Bullseye Shoulder Holster Attachment Kit?

Bullseye Shoulder Holster

I have a customer interested in a custom holster for his handgun (he can't find any holster what will work with his setup) and has asked me to help. The catch is that he wants a shoulder holster and I need the straps. I would have to modify it, taking out the leather parts where the mags and holster would go but that is very doable for me.

If anyone has heard about this setup please chime in.

Thanks, and I look forward to visiting this board more often.

Thanks for the help!

FWIW, . . . I saw one put together by a fellow for his father for a gift.

I was not impressed, . . . period.

If you have any mechanical or design ability, . . . you should be able to go on line, . . . look at some designs there, . . . and play around with it enough to get yourself a better idea than this thing.

It's design is to mount a basic belt holster on the "arrow" part, . . . and for me leaves a lot to be desired.

But, . . . I've only seen one, . . . YMMV/YOMV

May God bless,

Dwight

Thanks for the feedback. I would only be using the straps and the metal hardware, the arrow parts would be cut out and replaced with a holster of my design.

I've made some beautiful shoulder rigs. They look great on TV but don't work in the real world. This is my opinion. I'll stick to it.

You left out what kind of gun the holster is for and the size and build of the man it's being made for. Lots more variables in a shoudler rig than a belt rig for sure.
