2Nd Leather Holster

Recommended Posts

For my second holster I did an OWB.

1. I put more detail, with less mistakes when wet molding

2. I molded a space in the leather for the front.

3. I used leather dye reducer to thin out the Eco Flo Mahogany dye to get the color i was looking for.

Nice handiwork! Stitching and molding look good.

Suggestions on design:

- needs more clearance for fingers at the top of the grip/base of the trigger guard.

- it'd look better if corners were rounded more, mainly around the belt slot.

- belt slot should probably wider, especially if it's going to be used with a belt DESIGNED as a gunbelt and therefore thicker than the decorative waist straps folks buy at SuperMegaMart for $9.99.

- bring the stitch line in a tad bit closer to the gun.

- maybe bring the belt slot in a tad bit closer to the gun. Opinions vary widely on this one.

Well, Big O has pretty much covered everything...except maybe that the mag release is covered in leather...not too good an idea. Personally. I don't care to see much boning inside the trigger guard, but that's just the rantings of a grumpy old man.....maybe. Mike
