  1. Here is a link to McMasters Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/#plastics/=b2vgdm ,There are other types of rod stock depending on how much you are willing to spend. It also comes in different diameters, sold by the foot. And you can change the weight of the maul by the size and thickness, and also the type of metal spacer at the end.
  2. Jason Nice job on the chinks, the only suggestion I have is invest in some good basket stamps from say Barry King you'll be amazed at the difference! Other wise great job and keep it up!!!
  3. Looks good, what are you useing for a core in this one? And is the under three, over three in your heel knot a goof, not criticizing just doesn't look right, nose band looks good to me good job keep at it and postin pics
  4. A friend at work wanted a case to hold her keys and I D. She wanted her keys inside the case so they would not "rattle". So here it is. The flower is one I freehanded trying to come up with something different, give me your honest opinion. Oh yeah I can't sew a staight line sorry!!!!!
  5. After I delivered the first holster and shell belt to the client I got another order from him for a holster that he could add to the left side. It wouldn't just slip over the buckle and be tight so this is what I come up with. Also made him a holder for 2 clips. This was also a first (semi auto holster) that is, tell me what you think.
  6. WOW! Your a natural, that is nice work. Keep at it and keep posting.
  7. Jake; Very nice work, I like that celtic basket stap. Nice toolin, love the silver. Keep up the great work! G. Robbins
  8. Your right if its worth the money I dont mind spendin it, but I've paid a good price and been dissatisfied in the end. I'll give the Watts site a visit. Thanks for the reply.
  9. This is just my opinion but if I was you I'd go ahead and spend a little more and get a motor driven machine. The reasons for this is; 1 tippmans go for around 1400.00 new artisan 3000 (the one I own) 1800.00 plus shipping. 2 why pull a handle when you can push a peddle with your foot and free up your hands to guide your leather 3 I personally am pleased with my machine, haven't had any trouble with breaking and also the folks at artisan were helpful when I got it. There are other machines out there but I haven't used them, I'm sure they will also work, if its gonna break I dont want it even if they fix it for free. They need to make it so it doesn't break in my opinion. I think you'll be a lot happier in the long run, the only thing I would change on mine is throat depth. Just my opinion G.Robbins
  10. I thought I saw a flyer on saddle making classes to start in january at hidecrafters about a month ago but didn't think to pick one up. Does anyone have any info on this or did I dream it. When they start, the cost and duration of the class. I'd like to make my grandson a saddle for his b-day and have no saddle making experience. Is there a good dvd lesson plan out there that doesn't cost an arm and a leg that you all would recomend? Let me know. Thanks All!!
  11. I dont see anything wrong with the stitching it looks good to me. The whole thing looks good. What does "IWB" and "OWB" stand for, I'm thinking inside and outside waste band but not sure.
  12. Those look good, please forgive my ignorance but what is a bracer, is it like wrist cuffs?
  13. Tim, I to have recently started useing lexol in my casing solution along with the baby shampoo, and I think it has made life a whole lot easier. My guess would be the oils in the lexol. Maybe someone will give you a definite answer and then I'll know too! I do have a question for you, can you carve longer without stropping? I don't know if it is the solution or I finally got my knife sharp! LOL G. Robbins
  14. Three was the charm. I like the color contrast as well! Dye has sent alot of my hard work to the trash, so I know your pain! Good job.
