strudell Report post Posted November 4, 2012 Hi all, The Tandy strap punches are on sale in this months flyer and I'm curious if anyone knows how these might compare with the Osborne's? Is it pretty much not worth it to buy any Tandy tools if you intend to work leather for any length of time, or are there still some reasonable products there that my last through the early years? So far, I'm quite happy. Even just 'factory' sharp they have cut cleanly and effortlessly. Of course I'm using a 3 lb maul, but basically I've just let gravity do it's job and haven't had to use much pressure to cut. I haven't tried sharpening one yet, but I don't see a problem there. bruce johnson Report post Posted November 4, 2012 I was in a shop a couple weeks ago and he had a few of them. They do seem pretty comparable to the Osborne #150 punches except for the welds being a little rougher and no paint. He thought they were a little sharper straight out than some of the Osbornes.
