  1. Hooooooly coooooooooowwwwwwwwwww, thats crazy. atleast that is the nicest way I can say it different strokes fer different folks I do have several duplicates of the same tools. Maybe I should call this guy?
  2. looks good. The creative side pays off instead of just reading directions. You mind will be full of ideas as you recover. Don't forget to write some of them down. recover fast and get started making more peices like this sheath. GOOD JOB
  3. I totally agree with teamroperdad on this one. I'm new on here, but been doin leather awhile. My boss broke the gears. I am in a machine shop and custom made the gears from 4140 steel. I flame hardened them also. The boss case started cracking after that because, as button says, the frame will be taking the load. I only did this after unsatisfactory service through the boss folks. I will not own another one. I bought an old used machine (different brand), beefed it up, and now my hands are free and I cut down my time by leaps and bounds on repair work. Different strokes for different folks. Do what works best for YOU.
  4. To each his/her own. I'm all about being creative, but i"m sure I would draw the line way before I spent the money to do that. I did think of a hypothetical situation: If they were to get caught out in the rain, is the engine compartment hot enough to shrink the leather as it dries?
  5. Now thats the way to travel across country. "Old trail ride joins the new highway era" yes sir, I like that
