Hello,

I was wondering if anyone on here has a good, fast and accurate toolset for branding names into leather. I have multiple customers that want branded names and need a quick way to switch out type, that also heats up fast. Currently I use a set by LW Leather - but I find that the type will not sit straight, or buckles when you tighten it. Also the branding mark seems a bit inconsistent.

Are there any more standard solutions, even high-end solutions for this type of thing?
Thanks!

I think, after a search for other systems, that you contact LW Leather and ask if there is a solution to your problems. I've done research in the past and I thought that LW Leather had the best solution for a relatively portable (i.e. can brand anywhere on large projects) branding with moveable type. Otherwise I would have suggested a Hot Stamp & Heat Transfer Press, but those only print near the edge of a project like: http://www.hotstampsupply.com/presses.html

The only portable solutions I found were very similar to the LW Leather solution you have:

http://www.brand-first.com/accessories1.htm#125-STD

I would be curious to hear what LW Leather says about your problems.

Leatherworker "electrathon" has a lot of experience with lettering on leather. Check out his posts or PM him.
