When The Leather Hide Is Small (Making A Jacket)

Hi

I'm new to leather.

I'm trying to make a leather jacket with lamb skin.

I have few questions, if you can answer me i would be so happy.

1. When the leather hides are smaller than the patterns for the jacket, what should i do?

I've been looking for leather hides, but most of them are around 6 sq.ft.

It's smaller than what i need.

Is this normal? What should i do in this situation? Is there a method for this?

Or do i just have to find bigger enough for my project?

2. For leather goods like wallet and handbag.

Also, what i found are too thin for them i think. I'm looking for calfskin.

When it's thinner than i need, what should i do?

Is there a method for this?

Or do i just have to find thicker enough?
