How do I seal rawhide Tapaderos

I am making a pair of rawhide Bulldog taps. I talked to Rod today and asked what he recommends to seal them. I was wanting some more feed back on what everyone thinks. So what all do you guys recommend to seal rawhide Tapaderos.
