Belts & Belt Liners (for concealed carry)

Recommended Posts

Those of you that make belts for concealed carry (1 1/2" or 1 3/4" double lined) - do you dye the liner or leave it natural ? Any problems with the colors bleading off onto clothing, even with a sealer.

Thanks for your comments.....

I leave mine natural, just put super sheen on it and burnish the edges,

after sewing the pcs together.

Luke;

Do you put Super Sheen on the belt (front pc) as well? Or do you use something else?

Luke,

Thanks for your help. The reason I was asking is that my "edge ink" gets on the natural liner. I have not learned yet how to do the edges without this messing up the belt.

Hobby Tom when i do the edging, i ues a pc of felt or a pc of firm sponge.

keep the felt or sponge square to the belt edge and go S L O W .

hang in there you"ll get it........ if you use the daubber, it will overlap the edges of the belt

and that is when things get messy when you are doing edge work.

I keep the back natural though I have made them dyed both sides. I am now using FROG tape to prevent overrun of the edge dye onto the natural blank. I airbrush the sealer on both sides and the edges in several layers. Works well.

Here is some info about the tape technique:
