Craftsman Made Report post Posted October 22, 2015 Made this recently mainly out of solid undyed cowhide and a slightly thinner chestnut bridle leather. Hand stitched 6 to inch using 4 cord 18 linen thread. The idea for the design on the front came from Monica J's wonderfully designed and made Violin Bag. I also like how the strap stitching is parallel to the closure / lid / flap whatever its called (LOL) and the music clef...It all lines up very nicely...The buckles & straps hugging the lower radius of the shell is perfect too. No I am not going to be making another bag like this the reason being it is a one off made for a musician over in your part of the world. It took a lot of time working it all out as I had never tried doing this before. Hi Bruce. Again thanks for all your great comments. I had a basic idea of what I was going to do when I first started and the bag sort of evolved as it went along. The straps and buckles that ended up on the front flap were either the 4th or 5th variation I had tried and to me it just looked right in keeping with the rest of it. Peter.
