Needle Difference 1 Vs 1/0, 2 Vs 2/0, 3Vs 3/0...

Hi all.

I am going to buy some needles(Harness Neddle Blunt Pointed) I think "John James ".

But I can't work out the differnce for istance: "N° 1 VS N° 1/0 , 2 VS 2/0 and so on...

Could anyone please explain to me the difference?
