I have been wanting a red leather shoulder bag for awhile, but couldnt find just the one i wanted and didnt want to pay $200 either!!! So in the back of my mind is the piece of red leather i picked up in the seconds box at the tannery for $10. I thought i would have ago!! The whole bag is hand stitched (santa didnt bring me a sewing machine..maybe i was a naughty girl!!). the black lacing on the two outside pockets is 3mm kangaroo...the shoulder strap is covered in black leather..the sort that jackets are made of...the press studs on the outside pockets are covered in black sheepskin leather...the black trim is the same black leather as the cover on the strap. The skull concho is covering up a black mark that was in the leather. I didnt line the bag as it is only for me...there is a phone pocket on the inside. Thanks for looking....Caroline

Hi Caroline,

That looks really great. Love how you put it all together. The lacing looks super! Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Santee did not get off his backside and get me a sewing machine either. I must have been naughty as I know I wasn't nice. I have had to start hand sewing my own wallet interiors as Tandy isn't making them anymore. If I had a machine then it would be a quick zip zap and Bob's your uncle and I am done.

Nicely done kiddo!

Looks really good. I'm putting together a similar bag for a friend of mine that is starting back to school so it's good to see how you did it.

Looks good Caroline. I like the contrast of the black, and I like the look of lacing too.

Buttons, you can see in the fifth picture where i have the black strip of leather in place for stitching...grain sides together..then stitched..flip the black over and then glued it to the inside of the bag...

cheers
