What Brand And Era Is This Saddle?

Recommended Posts

I have an old saddle that I am looking for info on. There is no maker on it, but there is a little flower in the middle of the horn. I can't get a picture of the flower, its almost rubbed off. I can say that it looks like a little daisy with 8 petals. post-15629-127846336942_thumb.jpgpost-15629-127846338994_thumb.jpgpost-15629-12784634042_thumb.jpg

This is not from my saddle, but the flowers look the same.

I should add that the front dee has "E.Z. Rig patent 1815" on it, but I am pretty sure this is not that old. :)

Looks late 50s - early 60s, mostly due to the fork, horn style, and the rigging. You'll find saddles of that style from the 40s on up, though. The cantle binding is an older style. Is the rigging aluminum, or zinc plated?

Simco adopted the flower stamp in the horn years ago. The saddle is from the aforementioned time - late 50's, early 60's.
