Well, I think it;s more than OK...You did take time to make a nice braiding around. Keep going and the design and work will progress:-)

Admin got your message, but she hopes you reconsider. I agree with Tina- it's not lame at all. We all start somewhere, and your project is pretty darn good for a newbie. Even better- it SOLD! That says a bunch right there. If you still want Admin to kill this thread, I will, but I think you should give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back.

Thank you Tina and Johanna. Your encouragement means alot to me. I've done alot harder and fancier work, but I guess not everyone wants "Fancy" all the time. Selling it so quickly proves that! I am fairly new at this and have alot to learn. I'll keep making things and posting them and hopefully get some constructive criticism about my work. I do value everyones opinion, thats what its all about, isnt it? Thanks everyone!

I think it looks great!

I prefer the 'not so fancy' items myself. Most of my pieces are 'rustic' or 'old world' and I sell them jsut fine. I aint making a million bucks and aint looking to....cuz then it aint as 'stress free' hobby.

Everybody here will tell you, WE ALL are very critical of our own work as we see how it is different than the image we had in mind when we started. That image is not always realistic but we wont listen to ourselves long enuf for it to sink in.

I have made pieces I thought looked horrible becuase they didnt match that image in my head, but when somebody gushes over it and tells you how they love it....you have to listen!

Keep posting pix as we all love to see each others work!!!

I think it looks great!! Sometimes simple is better. I am very guilty of overkill. I tend to dress things up too much, when sometimes less is more.........

........and we are our own worst critics as leather craftsmen.

I would be proud to wear your watch band. I have made a few and none have looked as good as yours.

This forum has also done wonders in building up my self confidence when it comes to my work.

Again...........looks great!!!!

Wow! Thanks Timbo, thats really nice of you to say. You're right, Sometimes less is more. And I'm very guilty of less, mainly because i'm not very good at carving...YET. I've been working at it alot lately. Practicing on scrap. I'll get there one of these days. Problem is I dont have alot of scrap Veg tanned around. so I work on what ever I can come up with. Anyway, Thanks alot for the encouragement! Leon

That came out really nice. I like it. You'd sell a lot of those. Not lame in the least bit.

I'd say pat yourself on the back. This is something that, with all the stuff I've made thus far, I haven't made a watch band. And this one looks good.
