How Do I Tie This Knot/button?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I'm making a pair of chaps for a customer who wanted a pair like these. The only thing is I can't work out how to tie this knot holding the back belt onto the chap. I've spent ages trying to figure it out and it's got me beat! If anyone would be able to help that would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers,

Jason

Sorry I thought I could find the solution in my library of chaps pictures . So far no luck ,there is a cowboy ,ranch feed store here in town later this week Ill take my camera ,get on the bus and take a ride to that store and take a bunch of chap pictures . There is a saddle repair shop in the same area and I will stop and speak with my friend there about the best way to do this . next I have a friend that lives way across town takes all day on the bus I,ll go vist him and pick his brain about this he lives on a ranch where they raise fancy race horses . maybe I can get him to make a drawing of a nice solution to this fastneing problem . Thats why I asked for a couple of days to solve this . Replying here lets me upload 1 picture ,a email lets me send lots of pictures thats why I asked for that . I am old maybe a little off my rocker but generally there is a reason for every thing I do . To quote some one I admire : If at first you dont suceed, just use more duc tape ! (Red Green) When I solve this rest assured I will share with all . Bill

isn't that a monkey fist knot? Like this?

Could also be a globe knot.

You can upload more than one picture to the site at a time. To do so, you first need to resize them to 'standard emai' size....or 800x600 (pixels). That does 2 things - first, it makes the image easier to see on more screens, and second it takes up less space in the upload....which has a maximum size of 128MB per file.

Click the 'choose files', select the file and click 'open'. You should see a progress bar as it uploads to the site. Then look to the right and click the button 'add to post'. At that point, you can 'choose' another file and repeat the process. You have to click 'add to post' for each picture file you want to upload. There IS a limit, but you should be able to post 6-8 photos quite easily.

It really looks like a 2 strand button knot, but I have no idea as to how to do it.

I have a bandana with a knot tied like that. A guy did it for me cuz I could not follow his instructions. It's a very cool knot and I'd also love to learn it...

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated. I worked it out in the end, it wasn't exactly pretty, but it got the job done. Thanks again, Jason
