Mcmillen Hamley Daisy Stamps Wanted

Recommended Posts

Hi All, I'm looking for a set of the 5 petal "Hamley Daisy" stamps made by McMillen or if someone has a custom set by someone else similar. The sets I've seen are in 3 sizes, most interested in the largest one which is about 5/8 to 3/4" in diameter. Thanks for any help. Tom

Tom, I have a couple prototypes in the works and could quite possibly have some ready in the near future. I'll be sure to post them on here when they are done.

That would be great, I have some stamps on leather if you would be interested to look at them. Let me know and I can send it to you.

I think the stamp you are looking for is the hamley "prairie rose" which is a 5 petel flower, the hamley "daisy" has more petels on it, I would have to check my old catalogs to confirm how many.

For some reason this is a common mistake, most folks call the prairie rose the daisy, even though in the hamley catalogs they are two different saddles.

I think you're right Steve, it does have 5 petals. Everyone calls it the Hamley Daisy basket, but in speaking to Bob Douglas, I learned it is in fact called the prairie rose. Any suggestions on someone who might want to sell a set?

Tom,

If Elton is prototyping the Prairie Rose then I would wait for that. I imagine that there aren't a lot of people that would be willing to part with theirs but there may be someone..

Steve and several others like Bruce Johnson can attest to Elton's skills with making tools for sure.

Regards,

Ben

There is a Facebook group called "Leather Tools For Sale" and a man named Wade Saddlemaker just listed a 3 piece set of stamps he called Hamley Desert Rose. Not sure if that's what you are looking for or not. The one is a 5 petal flower. Way out of my price range lol.
