  1. Not sure how far I want to go on this bone shaker....just a bar hopper for now.
  2. Max - In a strange way I knew what you meant to say. Thanks...no apology needed.
  3. Thanks Max...I really liked the basket weave but thought it was beyond my capabilites.
  4. Well this was my first attempt at covering a seat with leather...made the seat pan out of fiber glass and laid neoprene for the rubber. The lace is Kangaroo with a double lace stitch.
  5. I'm to the point where I can start applying the leather to my project seat. I'm going to be lacing a seam and was wondering; do I overlap the seam or butt it up against the mating piece and then lace?
  6. David - I planned on wet-molding this seat, do I need to use something other than Neoprene?
  7. Thanks for the link! I'll be buying from them this morning. 1/2 sheet should be plenty?
  8. Great info guys! I think I'm sold on the 1/2" and layer as I go. I'll post pics as I have them. Thanks again...
  9. Been lurking here for a few weeks...the tutorials have been great on seat making. I have my fiberglass pan made and purchased 6 to 8OZ leather from Tandy while on vacation to the Pittsburgh area last week. Now I need foam...I've contacted the Foam and More folks about previous orders for Neoprene for bike seats; they say most builders use 1/2" to 1" foam and carve it out to their liking. I was thinking 2" would be the the right thickness for a softail style seat. Any advice would be apreciated.
